Guy Braunstein
Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Guy Braunstein (*1971) started playing the violin when he was 7. From an early age he has collaborated as a soloist with numerous renowned orchestras such as the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra or the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, just to name a few. He became the youngest violinist to be elected concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic in 2000, a role he held until 2013 – the members of the orchestra appointed him unanimously. Between 2003 and 2007, Braunstein was a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts and since 2006 he has been artistic director of the Rolandseck Festival.
