Gili Schwarzman
Flutist Gili Schwarzman performs regularly as a soloist on the world’s most renowned stages such as The Musikverein Wien, Berlin Philharmonie, Auditorio Nacional Madrid, and many more. Gili collaborates often with some of the most celebrated artists of our times in chamber music concerts, festivals, and in recordings for Europe’s Radio and TV broadcasters.In September 2022 she launched her first Sony Classical CD in Carnegie Hall NY, enriching flute repertoire with pieces written by composer Jorge Grundman,
And her discography also includes a chamber music CD recorded for Pentatone, with arrangements of some of the greatest masterpieces-for flute and strings. Th CD, “Old Souls”, features some of Gili’s most beloved chamber music partners- violinist Guy Braunstein, Violist Amihai Grosz and Cellist Alisa Weilerstein.Among her solo and chamber music performances, Gili has also toured with the West Eastern Divan Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Daniel Barenboim for several years, and she enjoys giving masterclasses to young talents as well.In addition to her career as a flutist, Gili Schwarzman is also a talented composer whose music has captured the attention of the classical music world. Her career began with a commission from cellist Alisa Weilerstein, whose project “Fragments” featured Gili’s first composition, “Prelude.” The piece drew inspiration from Alisa’s playing style and Gili’s personal family history.
Since then, Gili’s career has taken off, and she recently premiered her first orchestral work, “Portrait,” with the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin. Her music has been recognized by the music critics for its emotional depth and storytelling.
In June 2023, Gili’s composition “Portrait” will be performed at the Festival Paax in Mexico, accompanied by world-class ballet dancers, and conducted by Maestra Alondra de la Parra.In 2021-2022 Gili’s activities as a composer have been generously supported by the German culture fund- NEUSTART KULTUR for exceptional talents.
