Alondra de la Parra is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid. She has conducted many of the world’s leading orchestras, including the Orchestre de Paris, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, WDR Symphony Orchestra, Verbier Festival Orchestra (VFO), BBC Philharmonic, Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, L’Orchestra – Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and OSESP – São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra. She is a frequent guest at the Royal Opera House, London.

As of November 2025, she assumes the position of Artistic Director of El Auditorio de El Escorial (Madrid).

In 2016, she was appointed Music Director of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, a position she held until 2019. In April 2022, she was named Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano.
De la Parra’s musical universe extends far beyond the traditional symphonic stage. She is the founder and director of Festival PAAX GNP, held annually in the Mexican Caribbean, where she brings together some of the world’s leading soloists in the Impossible Orchestra, while also commissioning new works from renowned contemporary composers. She is the creator of the multidisciplinary production The Silence of Sound, presented internationally in Mexico, Germany, Spain and Brazil, and soon in France, alongside fellow Mexican artist Gabriela Muñoz, “Chula The Clown.”

She has also conducted the new ballet Like Water for Chocolate, a co-production of The Royal Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, choreographed by the internationally acclaimed Christopher Wheeldon. The ballet has been presented to great acclaim in London and New York. De la Parra is also the founder of Armonía Social, a project that provides free music education to children and young people in her native Mexico.

Her artistic leadership on the podium is inspiring and magnetic. Combined with her profound musical knowledge, this forms the defining hallmark of the Mexican conductor’s work.
